A gradual revolution uniting Simplicity, Solidity,
and Reduced Maintenance
FIVES CAIL developed a new drum-type finishing washer.
As of this date the installations currently in service
at Groningen (20,000 tons/day) and Etrepagny (15,000
tons/day) confirm the advantages of the process and
the technical solutions involved.
Cleans the lateral nerve filled with earth
and gives a final rinse to the beets.
Rotates the beets in thin layers during
a twenty to thirty second passage through the machine.
Smooth, flexible operation, which simplifies
and preserves the supporting
framework.
Variable speed for better adaptation to the factory's
flow rate.
Several banks of 10-bar water sprays aimed
at the beet layer.
Supported and driven by inflated polyurethane
tyres.
Greater likelihood of reaching
the lateral nerve relative to traditional systems.
Integrated spray ramps.
Beets rub well against each other.
Well controlled passage time.
Reduced sugar loss.
Efficient cleaning.
An active contact surface composed of
rubber-coated panels which promotes better resistance to abrasion
and preserves the beets from damage.
Simple mechanical conception.
SCRAPER-FEEDER
Simplicity, Robust construction and Reduced Maintenance
requirement.
For installation in a dry yard, the scraper-extractor
is a solid machine which has long since proved itself. It consists
of a steel bottom over which the beet-conveying elements move.
The volume flow does not vary according
to the nature of the product transported.
Standard dimensions: width 1000
mm, length 4530 mm.
Flow rate from 150
to 400 tons/hour for each machine.
Variable speed with remote control.
DESLIMING
and/or WASHING TROMMEL
Simplicity, Robust construction and Reduced Maintenance
requirement.
Installed in washing plants, our trommels can perform
desliming, washing, or desliming-washing functions.
Cleans the beets by stirring them efficiently
without damage to the beets.
The drum is supported on and
driven by either inflated polyurethane tyres or a path
ring.
Controlled passage time minimises
sugar loss.
Discharge of dirty water through a spoke-pattern
grid.
The beets contact
water going against the current.
Flexible, silent operation
without vibration.
STONE
CATCHER
FIVES CAIL offers two types of stone catchers:
the Drewboy-type stone catcher and the rotating drum stone
catcher. The former functions on an independent circuit of
high-density liquor, while the latter uses a flume carrying
the beets in water.
Two different technical solutions
which can be better adapted to the layout of the washing
plant.
Solid, efficient
equipment.
Reduced maintenance requirement.
WEED
CATCHER
FIVES CAIL offers two kinds of weed catchers: the
vibrating weed catcher and the flume weed catcher. The former functions
in a dry mode and separates weeds from the beets ballistically by
means of "ski jumps" screens, while the second is mounted
on a flume and picks the weeds out of the water with articulated
forks.
Reduced maintenance requirement.
Two different technical solutions which
can be better adapted to the layout of the washing plant.
